Ramie is one of the oldest fibres, used for millennia and known for its strength, ability to hold its shape and silk-like sheen. It is a sustainable fabric, requiring less water and pesticides than other textile crops. It also grows quickly and has a high yield per hectare, minimising its environmental impact. It is also biodegradable and recyclable.
The ramie fibres in Cortana collections are woven using traditional methods, which can create slight variations in the thickness of the thread in different garments. These subtle differences contribute to the distinctive charm of our designs and are an integral part of the artisanal quality of natural fibres and yarns.
