Ramie is one of the oldest fibres, used for millennia and known for its strength and silk-like shine. It is a sustainable fabric, as it requires less water and pesticides than other textile crops. In addition, it grows quickly and has a high production per hectare, minimising its environmental impact. It is also biodegradable and recyclable.
