Tussah silk, or shantung, is a type of wild silk produced by the silkworms of the same name, which feed on oak and juniper leaves. Because they cannot be farmed and their harvesting, warping, and dyeing are more complicated, this makes this type of silk an exclusive and cruelty-free fabric.
The yarns used in Cortana knitwear are carefully selected, using the highest quality natural fibers. The garments are made in small, specialized workshops in the Reggio Emilia region of Italy, which maintain a traditional approach.
